What great choices to have! Many of our top students at Cheshire Academy - both American and Chinese - had similar choices but chose Cheshire. There are many reasons to do so including: personalized attention, supportive environment, or even our location.
Cheshire Academy promotes the IB program which emphasizes critical thinking and understanding over memorization and recitation. We help our students learn to help themselves AND others, and although we are fiercely competitive on the athletics fields, we are not competitive amongst ourselves academically.
Many people prefer this support atmosphere of working together to make sure that all classmates and friends learn, and these teamwork skills are transferable into "the real world." Our top students go on to all of the top Universities, and if that was your child's destiny it could be fulfilled at either school.
It may be easier though to have this explained to you by a current parent, student, or even alumni. They could better describe why they made their choice and what it has meant to them. Please let me know, and I would be happy to arrange that.

如果喜歡IB文憑項(xiàng)目，柴郡中學(xué) (Cheshire Academy) --CT可以考慮。IB文憑有一定的難度，可以學(xué)得更深一些，上大學(xué)會(huì)更容易過渡一些。此外，它提供的寄宿學(xué)校生活和課外活動(dòng)更有代表性。 -

從學(xué)術(shù)和大學(xué)走向來看，建議 SSES。

1. 今年Cheshire真的是對(duì)大陸學(xué)生敞開了大門，會(huì)有相當(dāng)一定比例的中國(guó)學(xué)生涌入。所以這個(gè)4年后真正會(huì)是一個(gè)什么走勢(shì)，很可能變成兩極分化，頭部學(xué)生考取名校，中等及以下的學(xué)生陪跑。所以要看下學(xué)生自己實(shí)力了。
2. 德州的episcopal，之前有說過，這所學(xué)校部分課程，老師速度非?？?，跟得上的學(xué)生能學(xué)到很多很深的知識(shí)，跟不上的學(xué)生會(huì)被無情拋棄（如果自己再?zèng)]有奮起直追和自學(xué)能力的話，就非常艱難，也不會(huì)得到老師很多資源及重視），這一點(diǎn)和國(guó)內(nèi)部分學(xué)校課堂非常相似，我舉個(gè)貼切的例子，比如化學(xué)課，考試中等的學(xué)生是幾乎不會(huì)被老師點(diǎn)名問問題的，然而如果這個(gè)學(xué)生靠自己的努力考到了前列，老師會(huì)讓學(xué)生講題，在課件上幫老師完成一些解題思路，甚至某個(gè)周日會(huì)去老師家里聚餐bbq。
3. Frederick今年招的學(xué)生水平要高于過去2年的水平。尤其是英語能力強(qiáng)的學(xué)生有很多，這一點(diǎn)很大幾率是Frederick想提升自己學(xué)生質(zhì)量來實(shí)現(xiàn)下自己在寄宿美高中的排名及水平。這所學(xué)校有很大一部分學(xué)生較佛系，對(duì)美本名校沒有太大的狂熱追求。（Frederick對(duì)中國(guó)學(xué)生的管理還是很不錯(cuò)的，招生官還有微信，和家長(zhǎng)溝通很密切）
綜上，如果孩子是那種被打擊了還能越挫越勇的，我推薦德州的episcopal。其次是Frederick。 -
The Frederick Gunn School has had outstanding early admissions to colleges this academic year. Some of the schools our international students have received offers to are Cornell, Brown, University of Pennsylvania - Wharton School of Business, Yale, Boston University, Columbia University and Johns Hopkins. We are a small school with very strong academic results. I hope your child chooses to go Gunn!
